it obviously wasn't even a foul, do you think Barcelona will submit an appeal to UEFA? and if they do, do you think the red card would at least be replaced by a yellow? although they really have to take out the red without replacing it with anything.

You cannot appeal a red card in UEFA or Fifa competitions unless the red card was a case of mistaken identity.
Those are the hard-bound rules.
I know that in some Leagues you CAN appeal against alleged wrong red cards. Not in Uefa or Fifa though.

As a Liverpool fan, I am in a good position to gloat about our slaying of the ´Galacticos´ on two, yes two, occasions during the Champions League stages in 2009. As our Spanish cleaner commented after the 4-1 second leg defeat at Anfield, Liverpool: “Mi hijo, Pablo, esta llorando.” – “My son, Pablo, is crying.” “How old is he?” I tentatively asked. “23” she replied! Those Real Madrid fans sure are passionate. (Or big cry babies, depending how you look at it). I still can´t decide whether beating Real Madrid twice was quite as satisfying as beating Manchester Utd home and away in the same season. It was a close run thing but both were massive highlights of the 2008/2009 season.

All I can say is the food must be a lot better in Madrid than it is in Andalusia. Here you would be lucky to persuade Accrington Stanley´s reserve keeper to sign on, if you were using the local paella as a bargaining tool.
