why does most of the world focus on british soccer?
everybody at my school, the community, everybody that likes football (soccer), they all support a british team. I can't even imagine the amount of people i know that go for liverpool. I am very curious why people dont have as that much enthusiasm for serie a, bundes liga and to a lesser extent, la liga. and not to forget the countless leagues that hardly anybody know about.
Your question is a good one, because I don't think England has that great of soccer. I think there are a number of reasons why so many people focus on English soccer, but the main ones in my opinion are:
1) Global television distribution and marketing
2) Fact that the EPL teams have a larger number of big name players from all over the world
3) Games are broadcast globally in English, which is probably the #1 international language.
As for other leagues, I found this web site Golspace (www.golspace.com) which appears as though it is going to try to bring coverage of the other leagues when it launches.
