Is paint supposed to come off a car bumper very easily?
My 2008 Honda Civic's rear bumper was scratched, and now the paint around that scratch area is peeling off. I can easily scrape it off with my fingernails. Is this normal for car paint? My uncle says that it's because the bumper is not metal, it is made of plastic, so the paint does not hold as easily. Is this true?
your concept on the bumper made of plastics is not at all completely true in all cases , because with the bumper made of the plastic has no additional paint caoted on it instead it is moilded with the different colour with different choise,
There are vehicles which use metallic bumper as the byumper functions as the impact resisting medium at times of collusion , at times of the repainting of the damaged and the prpaired bumper make sure that the painting on the bumper is not done at rainy conditions , if done it would lead to the improper adhession of the paint of the surface of the bumper and eventually would lead to the pealing of the paint from the surface of the bumper at a much faster rate as experienced by you.
